Skoolसंसद
is a mock parliament. It is a platform for recreating the experience of
parliamentary procedures for students from various schools. A platform where social issues, Nation
development ideas, Problems associated to mankind, innovative projects and
vision for betterment will all be discussed by Students-“The
Members of parliament”.
Students
come together and form a council where the social issues are raised, discussed
and are also expected to be resolved by them.
This is an annual
event, where hundreds of schools are communicated and each year depending on
the commitment and approach few schools are shortlisted for performance.
It has been created
and conducted aiming to give the students as many opportunities to engage with
the information, judge its reliability, form an opinion and take inclusive
decisions.
First
Skoolसंसद was conducted in Year 2013, the journey was started from 14 schools
and now there are thousands of aluminas of this unique event.
Let
me share my journey of Skoolसंसद, I started it as a participant and
completed the circle by becoming a project manager for this research based
event this year.
After successful completion of a big project like Skoolसंसद 2020, when I look back to all the roles that I've played, it makes me immensely grateful and proud for being associated with a distinctive project.
When
I was in School year 2013, 2014, I use to love participating in co-curricular activities,
especially Skoolसंसद, found it very interesting to think about different social
topics and giving speech on it.

After
my schooling I was in touch with Deepastambha for its various activities. In
December 2018, I got a message that there is mentors meeting for Skoolसंसद 2019 and with that I got reconnected to Deepastambha
. Mentoring kids was a fantastic experience, I had to manage my schedule but it
was all worth it! I feel being a mentor is one of the best roles Skoolसंसद has to offer!
After attending Skoolसंसद 2019 I became very curious about how this
project is planned and managed. I had already liked this concept and so decided
to be project manager for Skoolसंसद 2020
with my co-mentor.
According
to me Skoolसंसद is a very good platform
for school going children which makes them think practically and generates
awareness regrading problems faced by the society at such an early age.
The
meetings and brainstorming sessions started in August i.e. 6 months prior to
the event. These meetings taught me the importance of punctuality and planning.
As the time progressed and intermingling sessions began it was a pleasure
to see kids from different schools working together on their topics with full
energy and enthusiasm while their mentors were directing their development on
right track.
When
very few days were left for the event and preparations at Deepastambha office were at full swing, then and there I
realized that, it is all about the people you work with! I remember when there were
only 2 days left for Skoolसंसद...............
And we had to print ID cards for all the student MP's but due to some mistake many ID cards and the attendance sheet was wrong. At that time I was really panicked because we got to know that at night and so there was only one day left for the event. I had to go home as it was late but couldn't relax and sleep at all, but then around 2 am I received a mail of revised attendance sheet and a photo on WhatsApp. Five Deepastambha members were working in the office till 2 am to get things done in time! At that moment, I felt so grateful and blessed to be backed by such dedicated people.

I think this incidence made my co- project manager to
say "अगदी घरचं कार्य असल्यासारखं सगळ्यांनी पुढाकार घेऊन Skoolसंसद साठी काम केलं" in her speech at the end of the event.
After
many such experiences, I consider that Deepastambha member and their systematic
and disciplined execution of the activity is the greatest asset of Skoolसंसद.The healthy
atmosphere here with constant appreciation and encouragement has always
motivated me throughout the journey!
The
most important aspect after any project is the lesson learned. I had many take away
and they are worth sharing. I learnt dealing with a situation with a systematic
approach and due to that my habit of advance worrying has changed to advance
thinking and planning.
Skoolसंसद2020 gave me many unforgettable
moments in the journey and has helped me to improve many aspects of my
personality. I will always remember this experience in my life and will use it
in all my future endeavors and projects.
